The agenda below includes suggested breakout sessions for students, although all sessions are open to everyone. See the main Summit agenda overview. The Student Day career panel, poster session and happy hour are specifically targeted to students.
Registration for Student Day is free for full time students only. A school-issued ID is required. Deadline to register is Monday, April 27. Student check-in begins on Tuesday, May 5 at 8:00 am and is available all day. For questions about Student Day, please contact Oded Cedar at oded.cedar@gmail.com.

8:30 am-10:00 am Conference Welcome and Opening Plenary
Welcome to the 2009 National Environmental Summit! Maureen Gorsen, Former Director of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control will kick off the Summit.
10:00 -10:30 am Networking Break
Enjoy some refreshments and network with students and environmental professionals while taking in the Summit exhibits in the Exhibit Hall.
10:30-12:00 Breakout Sessions
Recommended Student Day session: Using Interns to Identify and Implement E2 Opportunities
K-State's Nancy Larson will describe how one of their several facilities found E2 success by using their intern program. In two years 3 million kW/hr and nearly $300,000 dollars saved, this facility now has a plan to save 6 million dollars over the next few years. 12:45-2:00 Career Panel: Learn what it takes to build an environmental career. Our panel will include representatives from the business, government and nonprofit sectors, speaking about their own experiences and the green economy. Bring your career questions!
2:00-3:30 pm Breakout Sessions
Recommended Student Day session: Fostering Environmental Stewardship Through Community Partnerships
Community engagement in any environmental initiative is essential, and a prime place to start is our schools. This session will demonstrate ways to leverage partnership opportunities to reach our school populations in a cost effective strategic manner. Moderator: Wendi Shafir
3:30-4:00 pm Student Poster Session (official break)
Please attend the Student Day poster session for brief presentations about current environmental research and projects developed by undergraduate and graduate students. This is an opportunity to support and collaborate with your peers. Posters wanted! Please reserve your spot by April 25, 2009. You may also use this time to visit the booths in the Exhibit Hall.
4:00-5:30 pm Tentative: Career Networking Cafe;
Environmental professionals are making themselves available to answer students; job-related questions in one-on-one conversations. Sign up to meet people whose careers match your interests. Bring copies of your resume. Don't miss this unique opportunity!
5:30-7:30 pm Student Happy Hour
Unwind at the end of the day and continue conversations with students attending the National Environmental Partnership Summit. The Summit has a reserved area in Eclipse Lounge, the Hyatt's posh bar. No-host drinks and food available. Happy hour pricing until 7:30. All students are welcome; must be 21 to drink.
