Instructions for Submitting Content for the 2006 National Environmental Partnership

To enhance the quality of sessions this year, and to ease our process of managing up to several hundred submissions, we ask that you spend some time to prepare your ideas and complete the form thoughtfully.   Please note that we will be closely paying attention to your session or paper goal as well as your ideas about how you will stimulate and guide interaction.   Your submittal will be reviewed and selected not solely on the basis of the quality of substance but also on the creativity of process.

You will note that we are not suggesting tracks in advance this year.  Our hope is that this approach will allow for more creativity. Our intention is to be as inclusive as possible. After we receive the proposals for sessions, we will cluster and weave them together into a coherent program. The submittal form does ask that you select objectives and subject areas that best describe your paper. The purpose of this portion of the form is to help us to manage and organize the papers for review by teams of your peers. We do not want to limit your creativity. If we have not offered an option that best describes your paper, there is a field provided for you to suggest your own descriptive phrase.

We recognize the importance of involved and prepared moderators of sessions when moderation is called for.  We will be providing some form of instruction or guidelines for all moderators in advance of the Summit.

Review teams will select sessions or papers as submitted and will not be combining sessions as part of the review process.

Notes:

  • ALL submittals must be complete.  Half conceived ideas or placeholders will not be considered.

  • Full session proposals that include multiple speakers must identify contacted, committed speakers and their respective topics, brief bios and contact information will be requested of all speakers prior to abstract acceptance.

  • Moderators / facilitators must also be explicitly identified.  We will not be assuming that the submitter is also the moderator.
