CALL FOR CONTENT PROPOSALS
SUBMITTAL DEADLINE WILL BE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2005
We are looking for individuals, companies, geographic communities and communities of interest, governmental and non-governmental organizations with experience and expertise in pollution prevention, compliance assistance, superior environmental performance and sustainability to propose workshops, breakout panels, work sessions and dialogues.
Goals of the 2006 Summit:

To seek, create, and enhance environmental partnerships;
-
To learn how to create opportunities for integrating environmental stewardship into business activities while improving the bottom-line;
-
To exchange ideas and resources across industry, government and the NGO community;
-
To generate individual and organizational commitments to actions that produce measurable results; and
-
To provide useful training.
The Summit Program:
2 ½ days of 90 minute sessions including
-
Panel and discussion sessions, including individual papers;
-
Work sessions;
-
Facilitated dialogues;
-
Project and workgroup meetings; and
-
Other new ideas you might propose such as interactive games or competitions.
Plus
-
Full & half day workshops; and
-
Local site visits.
How You Can be Part of the Summit:
Submit a proposal for consideration. Our Summit and Call For Content is open and inclusive.
The following are guidelines meant to stimulate, but not limit your imagination. We are interested in the following topics:
Stewardship approaches including:
-
Voluntary programs,
-
Market incentives,
-
Pollution prevention,
-
Compliance assistance,
-
Recognition and leadership programs,
-
Managing a business in an environmentally friendly manner,
-
Environmental education, mentoring, and/or
-
Collaborative problem solving.
Efforts to enhance the sustainability of our major resources and resource systems including:
-
Water,
-
Air,
-
Land,
-
Energy,
-
Materials,
-
Toxics, and/or
-
Ecosystems.
Programs or projects including those which involve:
-
Scientific knowledge,
-
Analytical methodologies or tools,
-
Case studies,
-
Technology information,
-
Technical assistance approaches,
-
Sector strategies,
-
Model innovative programs,
-
Integrated approaches, and/or
-
Measurement.
**All of these preferably with measurable results**
The Submittal and Selection Process:
Your paper, workshop, panel, session, or other idea should address one or more of the goals listed above. We will build the agenda to take advantage of content synergies. We want to expand upon the energy and variety of the past.
Interactive formats will be more favorably reviewed.
Without exception, only complete submittals will be considered. You are expected to have commitments from all named participants.
You will be asked to follow the criteria and complete the form for the type of session you are proposing. For example:
Mini-workshop: State the goal of and describe your workshop. Identify the length, all presenters by name with contact info and brief bios, minimum/maximum participants, any costs, and equipment needs.
Panel: Identify your speakers by name with contact info and brief bios. Speakers must be committed to attend prior to submittal for the proposal to be accepted.
Facilitated work session or dialogue: Identify your target audience, the topic of dialogue or work. Indicate the desired outcome of your session and describe the process or agenda you will use for achieving that outcome.
Improvements in the 2006 Summit for this year (based upon comments received):

Monday will include board meetings and organizational meetings of our Summit hosts and partners. Please let us know if you are interested in holding a meeting at this time. Call 303-778-0313.

Workshops and site visits will also occur throughout the week. We are asking for proposals for trainings & workshops in addition to other session formats.

Facilitation of sessions: All moderators will be coached to work with their speakers and to be facilitators of the sessions they are moderating to be sure that sessions are interactive. If you are proposing a session and moderating it, we will ask that you work with us in advance.
